    Welcome to the QMap Hub!

QMap Hub is an open-source platform that advances qualitative mapping research and education. It started in 2023 as a graduate and undergraduate course design idea for the Program in Geography at Texas Tech University (TTU), and it soon attracted the attention of several sponsors and collaborators, including the TTU library’s Open Educational Resources Adoption Incentive Grant (TTU Library) and the Department of Geosciences at Texas Tech.

A team consisting of a research associate, an undergraduate researcher, a pedagogy advisor, and an open-source librarian co-developed the course (Qualitative Mapping Research, Methods, and Theory) and combined materials to release an online version.

We present this platform to the community of practitioners, students, and instructors who will develop together a qualitative mapping space providing useful ideas, tools, and instruments to advance the education and research of various fields.
